Why Anchorage Digital's BSA Officer Is Testifying Before the House Oversight Subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs

Trust is the foundation of every sound financial system, and nowhere is the need for that foundation more apparent than in areas of instability and conflict.

Digital assets can be that system. Anchorage Digital’s Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer Dustin Palmer will share with the House Oversight Subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs how that can happen when he appears before them in a roundtable to examine How Digital Financial Systems Can Empower the Vulnerable on Thursday, June 25, 2:00 PM ET.

Palmer has deep expertise in this area, tracking criminal money as a long-time civil servant and then helping the world’s largest banks build programs to stop it. He served as Senior Advisor to the General Counsel at the Treasury Department, as an attorney at the Department of Homeland Security, and as the leader of Promontory Financial Group's financial crimes compliance practice before joining Anchorage Digital. As the BSA officer, Palmer oversees a rigorous compliance program, ensuring bad actors are kept off of Anchorage Digital Bank N.A.’s platform. This experience gives him a firsthand perspective into how digital assets can foster financial freedom for people living under authoritarian regimes and in failing financial systems, support American national security, and extend U.S. dollar dominance.

We look forward to Palmer bringing that perspective to the Committee, and we're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the policy conversation.
