Background: Monad’s mainnet launch

Monad is an EVM-compatible L1 built for speed: 10,000 transactions per second, 1-second block times, and single-slot finality. When it came time to launch, the team needed a custody partner that could handle the full complexity of a major token launch, not just hold assets.

The challenge

A TGE at this scale has a lot of moving parts. Monad needed a qualified custodian, stablecoin treasury management, fiat on/off-ramping, and coordinated token distribution to hundreds of investors at once. Their previous provider couldn’t support on/off-ramping, so they came to Anchorage Digital.

The solution: What we built together

Pre-TGE: Before the token launched, Monad used Anchorage Digital to earn rewards on stablecoins, drawing rewards monthly to cover operating expenses.

TGE: The full token launch into Anchorage Digital completed on May 8, 2025. We coordinated with LiquiFi to handle wallet creation and distribution across investor accounts.

Mainnet launch: On November 23, 2025, Monad’s mainnet went live with Anchorage Digital as the primary day-one custodian, with $2.5B in assets under custody at launch.

Staking: Full MON staking launched shortly after, giving all Anchorage Digital clients the ability to delegate to any active validator and track rewards.

Porto: MON custody went live across ADB, ADS, and Porto, including on-chain dApp interactions via smart contract support.
